Spinal Adjustments

Doctor adjusting patient

If you have never looked into the world of chiropractic spinal adjustments, you could be missing out on an important treatment option that will help you enjoy life and recover from injuries. Chiropractic adjustments to the spinal will decrease pain, restore normal joint motion, and help your nervous system function normally. That's why we're happy to offer this non-surgical healing modality at our chiropractic clinic.

The Purpose of Chiropractic Spinal Adjustment

The human spine consists of a complex arrangement of vertebrae, discs, joints, and muscles that are controlled by your bodies nervous system. Your brain and spinal cord. Your nervous system starts at the top of your head and extends all the way to your toes and fingers.

Unfortunately, many problems like old injuries or repetitive stress can disrupt the delicate balance between your nervous system and body. These typically start as small problems that grow into big problems like muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. Muscle spasms will lead to a limitation of  joint motion and cause premature arthritis of the spine (degenerative joint disease, bulging & herniated disc).

Chiropractic spinal adjustment can relieve these problems. Dr. Craig Tankersley uses manual techniques that range from light  or no popping to "regular" adjustments that release the muscle spasms and restore the proper balance between the brain and body.

What to Expect From Your Adjustment Session

Chiropractic spinal adjustments can be performed safely on individuals of all ages, including newborns. An initial and x-rays can reveal stressful areas in your spine that causes imbalances that will produce increasing health challenges as you age. Tankersley Chiropractic will ensure that you are a good candidate for chiropractic adjustment before proceeding. Repeated chiropractic adjustments help the body accept the changes in joint position, although you may feel substantial relief almost immediately.

Don't be alarmed if you hear a popping or cracking sound during your spinal adjustment. This harmless phenomenon occurs when trapped gases escape from within the joints.

If you're ready to boost your health, flexibility, balance, and everyday comfort, our chiropractic team is ready to help you achieve those goals. Contact our clinic (772) 238-1777 to discuss the details of chiropractic spinal manipulation and schedule an initial appointment.
